Thank you Master Mi-zhe Fu! I had been wondering about the history of the force. This has helped me a lot.

Master Mhi-Zhe-Fu, is it possible for animals to use the force? I've heard stories of cats being able to sense danger and dogs being able to detect evil energy. If it is true that animals can use the force, then is it also possible for them to be corrupted by the dark side? I ask this because I recently saw a film,
"The Ghost and The Darkness," that was about two lions given these names because of their large man eating spree. This movie was based on a true story, which is what made me wonder. The lions seemed to know every trick that the hunters used. They could not be contained, couldn't be caught in traps, and weren't afriad of fire. In one case, the hunters wanted to protect people in the hospital,(the movie took place in Africa were the english were trying to build a bridge across a river.) So the hunters built a new hospital, and filled the old hospital full of meat, animal carcasses, buckets of blood. This should have made the old hospital irressistable to the lions, but instead they attacked the newly built hospital. And soon after, the hunters visited the inside of the lions lair, a dark cave, where they found piles and piles of dead bodies and skeletons. It was estimated to be between 100-500 bodies. So the hunters found out, that the lions were killing for sport. P.S. Sorry for the entire movie synopsis. I just wanted to make the purpose of my question clear. |

I think that animals are more similar to human beings than we think.
I believe that as they live closer to nature, their Force connection, sensitivity and abilities are more developed than ours. I had never thought about the fact animals could be controled by the Dark Side but unhappily, I think it is possible. Of course, I think that sometimes wild animals may also fight and kill to preserve their territory. Some real Sith are very different from the movies' ones, and I don't have much knowledge about their philosophy, I only know that many of them are not evil as portrayed in Star Wars.
In my personal experience, I've noticed that even the most beautiful emotion, if it becomes extreme can lead to stop seeing things as they really are, so I tend to observe and control my feelings in order to see things clearly. I think that self awareness can help us very much. May the Force guide you Master Silmerion Skywalker -------------------- ![]() FORMER PADAWAN TO KAI STORMWALKER "An infinite mystery is the Force. I would not usually think of the Sith doing anything that involves the Light-side and in fact most Sith I have heard of or talked to don't really believe in the Light-side. Although a Sith would do "good" if it was what they wanted to do. The Sith simply do what they want, which usually involves personal gain, although if they loved someone I could see them going out of their way to perhaps do something for them. The Sith use their emotions as a tool and as a drive, personally I think such things are dangerous as Master Silmerion said for they can lose themselves. |

A fascinating topic, Master Fu, thank you for the time you took to put it up!
Martial arts other than tai chi also utilize chi as their primary force. They are collectively called "internal" arts and primarily populate the "wudang" or "wu-tang" schools of martial arts. They are taoist in nature, whilst Shaolin is Buddhist and, although having similar principles, their methods of training are very very different. Has anyone here ever pacticed baguazhang? If you have the opportunity, it's a fascinating and amazing martial art, very different from tai chi, but a wudang style nonetheless. Aikido, one of my old martial arts, is based off of utilizing your opponent's chi, or ki as it is called in Japan, to let him fall over himself, essentially, as he tries to attack. There are many others, but I do have training to get to. I'll return later! -------------------- Accept everything just the way it is.
Do not seek pleasure for its own sake. Do not, under any circumstances, depend on a partial feeling. Think lightly of yourself and deeply of the world. Be detached from desire your whole life long. Do not regret what you have done. Never be jealous. Never let yourself be saddened by a separation. Resentment and complaint are appropriate neither for oneself nor others. Do not let yourself be guided by the feeling of lust or love. In all things have no preferences. Be indifferent to where you live. Do not pursue the taste of good food. Do not hold on to possessions you no longer need. Do not act following customary beliefs. Do not collect weapons or practice with weapons beyond what is useful. Do not fear death. Do not seek to possess either goods or fiefs for your old age. Pay your respects to Gods and Buddhas, but do not rely on them. You may abandon your own body but you must preserve your honor. Never stray from the way of the warrior. |

Though my personal experiance a REAL sith does not try to control his feelings but learn to understand and grow with them. Learning why a feeling comes and what brings that feeling to rise. One of my favorite Sith of the modern age , Miles, explains that his feelings are a beast that he does not control but listens to her, and understand why she tells him how she feels and what is bothering her.
Also with the lesson I actually enjoyed. Now with dark matter, it actually does contain mass and energy, it is like a stream of energy in a way that repels other energy types and creates a darkness in areas. It is not everywhere but in certain stream like areas. difficult to explain Now I know that there are children on this site so I will ask before I go on with the question and discussion I am seeking/ Originally Daoism and yin and yang dealt with sexual energy also. Its a very powerful force that even Tantra hows in its teachings. Is discussing it on ths site forbidden because of the age? Or is it ok for education purposes? For I want to know if anyone studies that type of energy for it is a union of energies that does create a force. There might be more to it than other people might know and I want to know the view of the jedi on this subject, especially since I know a large portion of the RJK is of the Christianity faith. -------------------- "The quieter your become, the more you are able to hear."

I believe such lessons would be an interesting knowledge but only to teach to adult Masters.

Dear master jedi, I have come to this site to learn about the jedi way, and to see the jedi point of view. I am not a jedi but still wish to see the masters view on this and see what they have to say about it. So if this subject does come up as a lesson is there a possible way for me to view the discussion?

The Jedi have a neutral point of view on more or less everything.
Each culture, and teaching is a source of knowledge, but of course, we respect each person and we are careful about teaching the right thing in the right moment of the Jedi's life. Your point is good though about seeing the eventual discussions. I'll refer it to the Council.
