This is my application to become a youngling.
1.Tell us a little about yourself, your age, what background do you have? Why do you wish to become a Jedi? I am a young man of 16. i was born in Portsmouth (down south) and have grown up in a loving and giving family. however, disaster struck when i was at the vulnerable age of 12. my father died a tragic death which i witnessed with my own two eyes. i will never forget the sight of his lifeless face as cancer stopped his heart. ever since then i have tried to find something which would show me that here was more than death. it was then i found the force. now i know that there are things far worse then death an that i (if i stay with the Jedi) i need not fer and fall too the dark side. i wish to join the Jedi so i can discover life's greater mysteries and find peace again. 2. How do you believe a real life Jedi would be difference from the movie ones? well, we do not posses the same arsenal as them, we do not have lightsabers of spaceships (yet) but we are equipped with other weapons, such as goodness, a sense of right and ,naturally, the force which guides our every move and shows us black from white in the Grey haze. i believe that we can show our belief to the world, and show them how to do the right things. 3. Have you read the entire Code of Conduct, and agree to follow the rules in it? yes. it seems that the more i read it the more i understand about how my life and the force are in twined. 4.Do you intend to approach you training and your posts with a serious mind? (This includes proper grammar, and full sentences) Of coarse i do. the force is not a joke and should be respected. how ever i only have a small laptop with poor keys and a bad spell check (please forgive any wrong spelling on this page.) 5. Will you respect those of higher rank by always being polite, and being open minded to their teachings? why shouldn't i. only a fool would not listen to those who are wiser than them. i may not always find it easy, but being a Jedi was never meant to be easy. 6. How active do you intend to be? And how much are you willing to put into your training? i intend to be as active as i can, basing my life around the force, and not basing the force around my life. how can w not be bothered to put aside a few hours a day to train ourselves to feel the force? And, lastly, an essay at least two paragraphs of 5 sentences long minimum, the first essay being one on what it means to be a "Real Life Jedi" I think being a real life Jedi is made up of three different parts;commitment patience and faith. firstly you need commitment to be a true Jedi. a Jedi's faith is not fleeting, and will not switch faith every other day. A real Jedi will live out their life style no matter how hard it is and ignore criticism. a real life Jedi knows it will not be easy. if you wanted to have peaceful life, you would not make this life choice. secondly you must be patient. nobody is born patient ,as babies clearly show. it is a feat one must learn through experience. this means listing to other's advice without being arrogant, and respecting the views of those with more wisdom then you, accepting what they tell you even if you do not fully understand it. patience is one of the key features of being a real life Jedi, as blowing your top when someone says you are wrong could lead to the dark side. lastly it is important to have faith in what you believe, not abandoning all you have lernt when you have a question. i believe that someone else wrote on this forum: “the force is a mystery. the more we learn, the more questions arise.” this also means doing your training, ignoring the human nature within you telling you that you are doing the wrong thing and that you look like a idiot. these three things;commitment, patience and faith are, in some ways, even more powerful weapons than the hottest lightsaber. ( i have not yet done the other requirements for activation into the Jedi order but these will come soon.) This post has been edited by Raid on October 06, 2009 05:05 pm |

bows
Greetings Raid, Welcome to TJK. I am High Knight Jan-Qui Coran a member of the Admissions Team. So sad to hear of the death in your family from cancer. I'm also aware of how that can feel as I've gone through the same thing. Many of us here have all had something happen to us in one way or another. You have done your application. Thank you. There may be other members of the Admissions Team who would like to ask you some questions. 2 other questions we've been asking are: Have you ever been a member of any other Jedi group? Have you had experiences that you cannot explain? You will have to post 15 meaningful posts & be here a week. Once that happens we can rank you as a Youngling. You will then have to wait till the next Youngling Class begins. A good test of patience & learning to wait. May the Force be with you High Knight Jan-Qui Coran -------------------- May the Force be with you

You have asked me to answer the two questions: Have you ever been a member of any other Jedi group?
Have you had experiences that you cannot explain? Question 1 I will answer truthfully. I was once, indeed a member of Wetpa's jedi website which was set up on freewebs. However I soon after told by a friend that most of his stuff was copied from this very website. At the time I was unwilling to believe this so I checked. The results were disappointing. I soon afterwards decided that I should get things from their true source and not out of a thief’s pocket, so I quickly came to this website. Question 2 asks if I have ever had experiences that I cannot explain. I must confess that I have never really had this feeling much. You probably get people on here who can chuck stuff across their room. I have never felt anything like this. But I have had one small experience which I will put in get some advice on. I was very good friends with a boy in year 8. One day he told me a very personal secret about himself. In the next lesson I began to sense something. It was almost as if I could see his mind laid out before me. I then realised that with a small prod here and a poke there, I could manipulate him to my will. It is only now that I have discovered that this must have been my first connection with the force. However, when I recently realised this I began to wonder if it was a trick which the dark side would use. Please could you tell me if this was is an evil trick which I should stay clear of? (P.S this is the most organized website I have ever been on. I only posted my application yesterday and it has already been answered!!!) |
