I think that for a Jedi what is important is believing in a higher power, whatever name you give it, the Force, God...It is also good to realize that this higher energy isn't only outside, it is also inside of us, and thanks to it we can do much more than what we are used to doing. Believing in this higher power allows us to go beyond the limits of rationality and see what is hidden.
Indeed, scientists say that more or less only 5% of us is pure matter, about 25% is invisible matter and 70% is pure energy, the Force. I know scientist that said if you are in a closed room and sleep with the fan on you will die because the air molecules get chopped in half.
The difference between a theist ( believe in a higher being that has a personality , say like a christian) and a pantheist ( believe in a higher combined force that does not have a personality. but is just a force) is their belief of the higher force. And though my extensive research their was once a golden age of man kind when there was a shared language and common wisdom whose history has been covered up and destroyed by the christian church, mostly the Catholic church. A Jedi seeks the real "truth"and wisdom and helps others as part of their path to the "enlightenment" of the force. So to claim a religion that tries to destroy the truth baffles me. I don't get it. No one tries to explain it to be except that the force is a "gift from god to man kind". -------------------- "The quieter your become, the more you are able to hear."

Is it too much for us to all act out of kindness? There are those of us who act in a way that inspires us, it is those people who will gain their place in Heaven... it is those who sacrifice all to serve others who will be remembered. We will remember them as we do our duty to God, let our souls fill with the Holy Spirit and let us go out and act out of kindness. See the rising sun and the wind as it fades into the day, raise our sleepy heads and breath. - The New Revolution Testament (the unwritten chapter) ![]() "When we do appear we can be killers, but we can also be healers. I am not angry at the christiants, but I am at the church head. I personally believe the Church head is still corrupt and also has principles based on what was created for an easy army. I am not judging I am trying to understand. And scientology, well I have gave up understanding it. At first I was like what the heck, it is a fiction religion. But later I have found out the a certain philosophy branched out today from this fictional religion and has molded into a different shape than what the fictional really says. I do find it funny when someone elses religion that is made up says scientology is a fake religion so why do people become stupid and follow it without doing their research on it. But at the same time their religion was made up a couple hundred years ago to. I think it was mormanism.

Even if I'm a Catholic, I have to agree that the Church made and makes many mistakes, precisely because it is run by human beings who aren't perfect.
I can only say that this same Church can also bring much good in the life of someone, I know it did for me. Of course, I don't blindly follow all its concepts, but I take from it what is necessary for my spiritual life. Often the most powerful and corrupt men are remembered, but I also knew/know many Priests and Monks whose work is totally ignored by the public, but who really give all of themselves for the others, just like real Jedi. These many monks did so in out of blind faith. I find blind faith stupid but anyways. Probably my favorite monk would have to be Martin Luther, he stood against the odds in what he believed and did what no man would ever do in broad daylight. Challenge the church itself.

More than blind Faith in God, I believe that the Monks or any other person who did cruelties in the name of the Church were manipulated. Human beings took the Holy Scriptures and gave a wrong interpretation to serve their own goals, searching for power and money, the exact contrary of Religion.
I'm against blind faith in other persons' words, but blind Faith in God or in the Force may help us go beyond our limits. After all, what made Luke fail with TK on Dagobah was only doubt...I think we have to do an inner work to find balance between total blind faith and not enough faith.
